Quebec Oils

The Quebec Oils project aims to support the emergence of a Quebec-based value chain for oils that are both produced and processed locally.

It brings together producer-processors of sunflower, camelina, hemp, flax, pumpkin, and canola oils around a shared initiative to develop a strong collective identity, increase the visibility of locally produced oils, and create the conditions for sustainable and profitable sector development.

OBJECTIVES

The project is structured around a collective promotional campaign designed to organize and showcase oils produced in Quebec, notably through:

  1. Structuring a coordinated Quebec value chain for Quebec oils
  2. Developing a shared identity under the banner “Huiles du Québec”
  3. Increasing the visibility of oils produced and processed in Quebec
  4. Promoting the agricultural practices associated with these crops
  5. Developing a collective action plan to support sector growth

The promotional campaign is co-funded by Aliments du Québec and carried out in collaboration with the following producer-processors: Oliméga – Signé Caméline, Ferme Tournevent, Améroquois, and Le Pré Rieur, as well as the Producteurs de grains du Québec, under the coordination of Isabelle Marquis, agri-food marketing strategist.
