Beth Hunter honoured with a Canada’s Clean50 award
On October 15, Beth Hunter, our Founder and Executive Director, was recognized by Canada’s Clean50 2026 for her contribution to the advancement of a low-carbon economy in Canada.
By founding FoodBridge in 2021, Beth built an organization guided by a strong conviction: systemic challenges in agriculture require collective approaches. This vision led to the development of collaborative projects, including Guarding the Grain for a Sustainable Future (Veiller au grain pour un avenir durable), which brings together more than 46 actors across Quebec’s grain value chains (malting barley, hybrid winter rye, oils), as well as other initiatives engaging agri-food value-chain partners in Quebec, Ontario, and nationally.
Before founding FoodBridge, Beth had already played a key role in the sector. She co-founded Équiterre and co-authored a national framework to guide philanthropic investment in sustainable agriculture, a tool that continues to influence funding strategies across Canada.
Beth’s recognition by Canada’s Clean50 underscores the impact of her work and the growing role of cross-sector collaboration in advancing agricultural transition in Canada.
